Today the Moon in Scorpio moves through an opposition to Uranus in Taurus, a square to its ruler Mars in Aquarius, and a trine to Neptune in Pisces. In Scorpio, our longing for safety, connection, and care sinks deep into an awareness of our most vulnerable places, and can surface as armoring up, making ourselves impenetrable and unshakable. But Uranus unsettles our footing, breaks up our certainty, and demands authenticity. Brené Brown writes, “While vulnerability is the birthplace of many of the fulfilling experiences we long for—love, belonging, joy, creativity, and trust, to name a few—the process of regaining our emotional footing in the midst of struggle is where our courage is tested and our values are forged … If we are brave enough often enough, we will fall; this is the physics of vulnerability. When we commit to showing up and risking falling, we are actually committing to falling.” As the Moon makes its square to Mars, we may find ourselves charged with a fight-or-flight response in the face of risk or conflict. What if the bravest, most courageous response is actually to be vulnerable and to risk failure? It is when we show up in our courageous vulnerability that we begin to find healing in the waters of empathy, compassion, and care. Moving from the square to Mars into the trine to Neptune, this journey of the Moon reminds us that if we risk vulnerability—even if we fall or fail—we have chosen to dive into deeper capacities for compassion and connection. What would be the more courageous and vulnerable response for you today?
