Tutoring + Mentorship
Teaching has been one of my great passions in life. I hold a PhD in Dance Studies, and I was a university educator from 2009-2021, teaching courses on feminism, queer studies, transgender studies, ecosexuality & the arts, writing about dance, dance history, movement practice courses including modern/postmodern dance, yoga, performance, and more. I have taught Queer Yoga community classes for many years, and workshops around the world engaging with Butoh, dance as a magical practice and dance as political witchcraft, pleasure practices, and tarot. In 2021, I had the great honor to start working as a teaching assistant with Kelly Surtees for her online astrology courses and discovered that my love of teaching extends to astrology as well.
I am excited to support beginner to intermediate astrology students in their learning through student-led tutoring and mentorship. If you are primarily a self-taught/book-taught astrology student or someone who has completed coursework with an astrology teacher and is now seeking guidance or direction in synthesizing and integrating what you have learned, or if you have a growing list of questions about what you have learned that you would like to talk through with a practicing astrologer, I would love to work with you!
This approach is not a structured curriculum, but instead follows the questions and interests of engaged students toward deepening their understanding of astrological foundations and techniques. I work exclusively in the area of natal astrology—both interpreting natal charts as well as applying predictive techniques for personal forecasting—using the tropical zodiac, whole sign houses, and the traditional rulers of the signs. My practice and studies are rooted primarily in the Hellenistic tradition, and these are the approaches that I am most capable of supporting and guiding. I also work regularly with the major and minor asteroids and can guide you in developing this as part of your practice. You can read more about my background in astrology here.
If we work together—in a one-time or ongoing capacity—I will ask that you submit a list of questions or topics that you would like to explore together in advance in order to confirm that I am the right practitioner for the kinds of questions or approaches with which you are working and to help prepare for our session(s) together. Your interests, questions, and curiosities will shape the direction of our work.
Examples of topics we might explore include:
-Significations of the planets, signs, houses, and aspects
-Essential dignities and other factors relevant to planetary condition
-Annual profections and solar returns
-Secondary progressions
-Transits
-The major and minor asteroids
Tutoring and mentorship is not the same as receiving an astrology reading. As such, in this work, we will not work with your own chart or the charts of friends, loved ones, and family members. When we work with specific charts, we will limit this work to the charts of public figures for the purpose of understanding the application of specific techniques. If you have questions about your own chart, I invite you to book a consultation with me here.
Tutoring and mentorship sessions are available for $150 per hour. Payment is handled via PayPal at the time of booking. Once payment is submitted, I will send you the link to my online calendar to schedule a day/time that works for you. I offer only a limited number of tutoring and mentorship sessions each month, and priority will be given to returning and ongoing students.
