The cardinal fires of Aries may compel us to charge ahead with haste and urgency, but Saturn cautions patience, moving at the pace of commitment to the collective. As adrienne maree brown writes in Emergent Strategy, “There is such urgency in the multitude of crises we face, it can make it hard to remember that in fact it is urgency thinking (urgent constant unsustainable growth) that got us to this point, and that our potential success lies in doing deep, slow, intentional work.” As politicians and protestors call for a reopening and repopulating of public spaces amidst the ongoing crisis of COVID-19, question the motivations of this haste to abandon the practices for protecting the most vulnerable among us by preventing the accelerated spread of the virus.
